In the spirit of the holidays, the City of Savannah and the Savannah Development Renewal Authority are offering an extension of the free parking blessings they bestow upon us. 
 
No, Willis, I did not stutter. MORE FREE PARKING. 
In addition to the already awesome free garage parking at the Robinson and State garages on weeknights (starting at 6 PM) and weekends, there are now:
  • Reduced rates on the Bryan garage ($2 weeknights, $1 weekends)
  • FREE metered parking from noon to 5 PM, Thursdays and Fridays
  • Allowed overtime on timed spots from noon to 5 on Thursdays and Fridays.
These deals make a great excuse to take a long lunch, get your holiday shopping done on Broughton, or any other excuse to park for five hours and soak in the miracle of not having to pay on a weekday.
 
The rates last until New Year's Day (at which time we expect the army of City meter maids to resume their reign of terror). Enjoy!
